Why do you think you are qualified to run for this office?
As a mother of 3 boys in Laramie County Schools and a professional with years of experience working with and in state government, I have brought a valuable perspective to the Wyoming legislature. My greatest strength, though, has been my willingness to work with all of my colleagues, regardless of party or ideology, to find solutions to the issues facing our state. Working with the executive branch and other legislators, I drafted carbon sequestration legislation that is the first of its kind in the country to position Wyoming as a leader on energy and climate change. I have advocated on behalf of children in our schools and also co-sponsored legislation to clean up meth houses, an important issue for Laramie County.

What motivated you to run for this position?
It has been an honor to serve the residents of House District 11 and I am seeking re-election to build on the work begun in my first term. We need leaders who are not afraid to take advantage of Wyoming's current boom to build a brighter future for all of Wyoming's citizens.

What issues related to the office you're seeking do you think are of biggest concern to voters?
Energy costs; lack of affordable healthcare; property tax increases; roads; education; and maintaining Wyoming's quality of life in the face of growth.

What other information would you like voters to know about you?
I have been and will be committed to using my time, talents and energy to work for the best interests of the people of Wyoming -- our greatest natural resource. I look forward to hearing from my constituents during the fall campaign. Mary Throne
